ST JOHN'S WOOD
The London holiday home of an Indian couple with two teenage daughters.
This elegant three-bedroom apartment, set within a 1920s block in St John’s Wood, retains many of its beautiful original features. The oak herringbone flooring and distinctive curved windows became the starting point for the design.
To bring more light into the once-dark hallway, glass double doors were introduced, while an internal window between the dining area and sitting room allows daylight to filter through and creates a sense of connection between the spaces.
A bespoke bar, flanked by bookcases, forms a stylish focal point, while warm autumnal tones add depth and create inviting pockets of warmth throughout the otherwise bright, airy interiors.
Dark timber doors were replaced with extra-high versions to enhance a sense of scale, and mirrors were strategically placed to amplify light and expand the perception of space. Finishes in bronze and elegant alabaster wall lights complete the scheme with a touch of understated luxury.
